A feast of top quality racing attracts the best equine athletes in the world accompanied by the biggest names in the sport. The Tuesday highlight is the newly upgraded Group 1 Qatar Goodwood Cup, won in the previous two years by Big Orange.

The Qatar Sussex Stakes, on the Wednesday, is one of the highlights of the flat racing season, with prize money of £1million attracting a world-class field.
